Fatty Magee

Fatty Magee will be 6 months on the 11th. I can hardly believe that it has been 6 months since our ordeal in the hospital. He is quite the growing boy and just solid. He loves to laugh and when anyone pays attention to him. This month I have a total of 9 doctors appointments. He had his EKG/ECHO last week. The EKG is showing some thickening of his heart wall but the ECHO was clear so the cardiologist doesn't think that it will amount to anything but we still have to follow up in 6 months. He had a GI appointment on Thursday. He is still having problems with his acid reflux and taking Previcid(Follow up in 2months). The appointment with his Physical Therapist went well and she was impressed his progress and how strong he is. He has his 6 month appt with his pediatrician next week along with a RSV shot at another office. The following week we will see the pulmonologist again. They have taken him off caffeine and the apnea machine. The week of Thanksgiving we have an appointment with the Neurologist to have a head ultrasound to check the brain bleed. Also we have an appt to see the radiologist to have a Modified Barium Swallow. This is when we will find out if we can thin out his feeds or if he will still aspirate it into his lungs. Right now he is on a honey thick formula(1Tbls of rice cereal to every 1 oz formula). This is all of the fun that Brody and I get to have and poor Bailee will be dragged along. Luckily the older ones will be in school. I can't imagine if I have to entertain all of them at the dr.s

Brody was a pee in the pod for Halloween. We didn't get many shots of him so I took a few today before we put the costumes away. He is so stinking cute if you ask me:)

Bailee is 10 months older but you can hardly tell in this shot. Bailee is on the small side so I am sure it will not be long before Brody catch ed up.

His Physical Therapist wants him to sit as much as possible so here he is in a Bumbo. He will only stand it for a few minutes. He is still pretty stiff which is common for preemies. We do exercises with him everyday.

I thought this pic was cute. He was getting upset at being in the Bumbo and making faces.

Bailee's Update

Bailee has been such a trooper through out her hand injury. I figure she must have a high pain tolerance because she really only cried the day it happened. She didn't really fuss everyday when we would have to change her bandages. In fact we would have to stop her from taking them off and picking at them. This pic is of Bailee a week after it happened when the doctors said that she didn't have to wear bandages any more. We just have to put lotion of them a few times a day and stretch them and they don't think that she will have any scars. YEAH!!!!

This is of Bailee today. Her hands are just pink and looking good.

Halloween

Here are a few shots of the kids on Halloween. We hung out on the neighbors carport and ate pizza then took the kids around the neighborhood for trick or treating. The kids loved it. Kodee would say trick or treat all the way down the street, up the walkway and then when they would open the door she was suddenly shy. Go figure.

Thanks to Papa Tom for toting a wounded Bailee around.

This is Kodee and Maija, our neighbor. They are best friends and held hands while trick or treating.

Halloween Party

OK-So it took me a little while to sit down and get things uploaded. I have been trying to catch up on all the crazy loan stuff that is going on right now and that takes up my nights. Which is the only time to sit down and use the computer without 4 kids in my lap. Here are some pics of the kids at Kodee and Rylee's preschool, Little Scholars Academy. It was so cute. They had face painting, arts and crafts, food and games. The kids did a little presentation of a pumpkin song which my kids refused to do because they were too busy eating. Apparently they take after me.

This is Rylee, her cousin Ana Milan, their teacher Miss Jenna, and some of the other student.

Here is my buzzy little bee playing with the doll house at the school.

Brody is passed out while Kodee and Bailee go to town making scarecrows. They had a blast.

This is my pretty princess with her cousin Ana Milan waiting to get their pizza. Rylee is only 2 weeks older. Ana Milan is closer to Kodee's height.

I just thought these were too cute of my little lady bug. I love the tongue.

My poor baby all bandaged up. Notice only one shoe one cuz the other one was too fat with the bandages on.

My poor baby!!

WARNING...the next few pics are heartbreaking. Yesterday all three girls were playing on the patio table(Its dark). Kelsey was taking them inside to eat lunch and put Bailee down for a nap. Bailee was just hanging out on the table when Kelsey lifted her up and she started to cry. Kels saw one of her hand and ran it under water when she saw the other hand and one foot. I called the pediatrician and they said come right in. We threw the other 3 in the car and Kels held her in the back. When we got the the dr.s they took one look at her and said take her to the burn unit. So off we went. Bailee was missing her nap and she was sooo tired that she would start to pass out then after about 30 seconds the pain would kick in and she would cry. She was crying to hard that she burst a blood vessel in her forehead. At the hospital we watched as a red/purple bruise just appeared. The burn center was great and immediately took her in and put soothing gel on her hands and the gave her some Tylenol w/ Codeine. She was still crying so hard until that kicked in then she passed out. They took off the dead skin and wrapped it up. She slept well through the night and didn't have medicine until about 11am. She started using her hands as much as she could bandaged up. She would get so frustrated that she couldn't hold anything. These pics are from when we changed out the bandages. About an hour later she took off one of the wraps and was picking at it. Disgusting!! We had to tape the bandages on. She is one tough cookie. She still managed to keep up with her sisters. Granted Kodee has 102 degree fever so that slowed her down some. Anyways, they said we will have to bandage it for at least 10 days. The doctors think that the table was not hot enough to instantly burn her but just hot enough to literally, slowly cook her skin.

Family Pics

A couple of months ago, Ryan's cousin Cindy of lilypstudios took some family pics of us. I was amazed that we actually got some good ones. It was sooo stinkin' hot that the girls were miserable. They wanted nothing to do with cooperating. We are going to attempt it again next weekend now that it has cooled down a little. Thanks Cindy for the awesome pics and for being so patient. Here are some pics from round one.
Don't you just love this face. Can you see the defiance??

Now if I had this at home maybe it would stay somewhat clean

My Bailee knows how to get down and loves to do it. Anytime there is music playing she will start jammin' out. Especially in a store or in the car.

These two are two peas in a pod. They are very protective of each other. If one is getting in trouble the other will run to their rescue and say "No yell at my friend" Gotta love it!!

I just think that she is B-E-A-utiful. Maybe I am just biased cuz I'm the mom.

My Crew!!

I love Kodee's lone freckle.

How To Be A Good Wife

I hope my cousin doesn't mind but I stole this article from her blog. It comes from a 1950's high school home economics book. While a few points may be true, I'm sure glad times have changed. I'm sure my husband would appreciate it if I did some of these things once in a while, either that or he'd think I'd gone completely crazy. I couldn't help but think that I am sure none of these women had more than 2 kids. There is no way that this would be possible in my home. I am lucky some days to have an ounce of sanity left. Rylee, my oldest was still 2 years old when my forth, Brody was born. Things are constantly on the go around here but I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope you get a laugh out of this!

" Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal-on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.
Prepare yourself. Take fifteen minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.
Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.
Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces if they are small. Comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him, greet him with a smile and be glad to see him.

Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints.
Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.
Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.Listen to him. You have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first
Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.
Your goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit."

Who's a FATTY????

I can hardly believe that Brody is almost 4 months old. It seems like a lifetime ago when we dealt with the whole hospital thing.
This is a picture that aunt Lisa took right after he was born. You can see that his cord is still there. He was 3 lbs 14 oz and 16 inches long.

The next two pics are ones that the hospital took. These are the pics that they brought me to see him since I was in ICU. He was born on Sunday morning and the first time I saw him was on Wednesday afternoon. I still can not beieve how tiny he looks in Ryan's arm and how tiny his head looks next to Ryan's.

So who's a fatty you ask?? Well it would be this tank right here. Hardly the same baby. Last week he weighed in at 11 and a half pounds.

Family Reunion

Over Labor Day weekend our family has a family reunion. It is great to see and spend time together. The kids always have a blast and love playing with their cousins. Our family is huge into games and it seems like there is always one going on at the cabin. Here are a few pics of all the fun we had. Most of them are inside cuz it rained a ton but we still had fun. Especially the kids who didn't let the rain slow them down a bit.
Jon, Megan, Kellee, Ryan and Tom playing Ticket to Ride.
Spencer, Miriam, Sterling,Kevin, Kim, KC, Tyson, Catherine, Harmony, and
Kristofer playing Trivia Pursuit--80s and 90s--oh yeah!!

Darla, Nan, Cindy, Marla, Grandma, Mikki, and Mike playing some new game the Kellis' made up and invented new rules all the time--jk
Here is Kodee on the first day we got up there. She had been plaing hard all day and decided she was tired so she climbed under the table as we were making dinner and passed out. She does that in the strangest places.

Here is Kodee on the 2nd day we were there. She passed out on the swing but would not give up here cookie which is still in her hand.

More Family Reunion Pics

Uncle Kevin and Chloe--all smiles.
Brandon doing the dirty deed.

All the kids love the trampoline.
